What is XPS and what are its benefits?
XPS stands for extruded polystyrene, a rigid foam material. The material makes the PolyBlue panels extra hard, stable and lightweight. Benefits of XPS are its watertight, mould-repelling characteristics, high heat resistance and very high compressive strength. XPS can be cut to size easily, if required. XPS is pressure resistant, dimensionally stable and shape retaining, which means that it is excellent for use in damp rooms, as the panels will not expand.
What is the compressive strength of PolyBlue insulation panels?
The insulation panels are made of XPS. The kPa value (compressive strength) depends on the type and thickness of the panel. You can see the performance statements on our download page.
What can I use the insulation panels for?
PolyBlue’s insulation panels are ideal for insulating your home. Thanks to a closed-cell structure, the insulation panels are very suitable for use in damp rooms and are also heat insulating. Our range of insulation panels includes foam panel (for insulating your home), roof panel (suitable for insulating an inverted roof), wall panel (for insulating cavity walls) and an edge strip (for decoupling wall and floor).
For which surfaces is PolyBlue suitable?
XPS panels are very suitable for floors and walls. As the panels are pressure resistant, you can walk on them without fear of them breaking.
Where can I find the technical properties of PolyBlue?
Our download page includes a document detailing the technical properties of our interior construction panels.
Are these interior construction panels suitable for bathroom renovation?
PolyBlue is very suitable for renovation projects. The panels are the perfect substrate for tiling and plaster work and are ideal for finishing toilet rooms, bathrooms, showers and pipework. The panels can be tiled directly. The combination of the coating and the PolyBlue sealant and adhesive provides a 100% watertight finish.
Which types of installation frame are the toilet panels suitable for?
The PolyBlue toilet panel can be used universally in any toilet installation frame. The toilet panels come with cutouts for the drain pipe, supply pipe and attachments. The PolyBlue toilet panel is available in three sizes and can be adapted to the chosen toilet conversion. Toilet panels are supplied with an attachment kit.
How do I fit the tapered shower panel?
There are three options for fitting the tapered panel with drain in renovation or new-build projects: 1. Combined installation of drain and mounting of tapered panel (most commonly used), 2. Fully recessed installation of both tapered panel and drain, 3. Full mounting of both tapered panel and drain. For more information about fitting options, please refer to the product data sheetfor the PolyBlue tapered shower panel.
Do you also offer a product warranty?
PolyBlue offers a ten-year warranty. In addition to the product warranty, we also offer a system warranty on construction, sealing and adhesion. For information and advice, please contact one of our advisors.
